Third victim dead after shooting in downtown Austin

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A third victim is dead after a mass shooting in downtown Austin over the weekend.

According to reports, Jorge Pederson, 30, was taken off life support Monday.

The two other people killed in the shooting are identified as Ryder Harrington, 19, and Savitha Shan, 21. Shan was a student at the University of Texas.

According to the Austin Police Department, Ndiaga Diagne, 53, is the suspect in the shooting. He was ultimately shot and killed by police after he was found near a bar on West Sixth Street. Investigators say Diagne fired shots from the SUV he was driving before leaving the vehicle nearby and shooting more people in the street.

Photos showing Diagne wearing a hoodie that said ‘Property of Allah’ across the front are going viral and the shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism.

Around 14 people have been released from the hospital.
