A man who was driving a vehicle that police suspect was involved in an aggravated kidnapping died after fleeing a traffic stop and crashing into a concrete pillar, police said.
Around 6:32 p.m. on Monday, March 2, the Fort Worth Police Department was investigating a suspect vehicle they believed was involved in an aggravated kidnapping, the Fort Worth Police Department said in a press release.
Officers initiated a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle and drove away from police northbound on Interstate 35W, the release states.

The suspect exited at Pharr Street and crashed into a concrete pillar underneath the overpass, officials say. The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene, police said.
The department’s Traffic Investigations Unit and the Major Case Unit are investigating the incident, and detectives are working to confirm what led to the pursuit, the release states.
Police did not immediately identify the deceased driver.
