EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — There are some reports of some voting polls having issues on Tuesday morning on Election Day for the March primary.
According to Lisa Wise, the El Paso County Elections Administrator, voting machines are operating correctly.
She said some locations are having issues with their poll pads.
Voters are still able to be processed, Wise said.
Wise said voters need to check in manually at those locations(it’s unknown which locations are impacted).
Wise said they are working with the vendor to get all of the poll pads operational as soon as possible.
The Election Department posted the following on its Facebook page:
We are aware that several voting sites are experiencing issues with the voter check-in system. Voting machines are operating properly, however, some locations are requiring manual check-in, which may cause delays. Voters are reminded that they may vote at any voting site and are not required to vote at a location within their precinct. Voting sites that are having check-in delays with the poll pads are utilizing state issued combination forms. These forms are created by the Texas Secretary of State and are used as a signature roster and affidavit form.
Primary voters in Texas are required to declare their party in order to receive the correct ballot. A voter will need to declare their party whether using the paper combination forms or checking in on the electronic poll pad as require by law.
Voters can vote at any polling location from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
