EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso County Elections Department said the issues with the voting pad check-in at some polling locations have been resolved.
Some poll locations were having issues with voter check-ins on Tuesday morning.
In a press release, the El Paso County Elections Administrator, Lisa Wise, said voter check-in pads were not working properly, not allowing voters to select a party.
However, despite that issue, Wise stressed that voting machines were working, people can go and vote, and all voting sites are open.
As a workaround, Wise said election workers were checking-in voters manually, using state-issued combination forms created by the Texas Secretary of State, which are used as a signature roster and affidavit form.
Wise recommended that people check waiting times at voting sites by CLICKING HERE.
Furthermore, Wise said the Elections Department was communicating with the poll pad vendor to identify and correct the issue.
Earlier, the Election Department posted the following on its Facebook page, naming the sites that are not experiencing check-in issues:
We are aware that several voting sites are experiencing issues with the voter check-in system. Voting machines are operating properly, however, some locations are requiring manual check-in, which may cause delays. Voters are reminded that they may vote at any voting site and are not required to vote at a location within their precinct.
