Four Plano ISD students have earned the Texas Theatre Scholar Award from the Texas Thespians for the 2025-2026 school year.
This award celebrates students who exemplify excellence in the classroom and on the stage, and recognizes young artists for their dedication, discipline and passion for theatre education. Congratulations to the following students:

Catherine Cockrell, President’s Scholar
Jake Kerstine, Vice President’s Scholar
To be designated as a Texas Theatre, a student must:
Be currently enrolled in the school
Be a member in good standing with the campus theatre department
Actively participate in theatrical programs during the school year
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or local equivalent) for all academic coursework
Fulfill any additional local criteria required by the theatre program or campus
Demonstrate behavior and character that bring honor to the theatre department, school and community
These students represent the collaboration of artistry, scholarship and character. We are Plano ISD Proud to honor their accomplishments and the examples they set for their peers!
