Tarrant County released early voting totals for the Democratic primary for the Tarrant County Judge.

Current Precinct 2 Commissioner Alisa Simmons leads a field of three, though there are only two active candidates.

Simmons is running against former Fort Worth Mayoral candidate Millennium Anton C. Woods Jr.

Candidate Marc Veasey, former Texas and U.S. House Representative, initially filled but dropped out. However, he is still on the ballot.

What you need to know

Simmons received 69,210 votes, or 61.79%, in early voting and has a comfortable lead to be the Democratic nominee. Veasey received 30,086 votes, or 26.86%.

Woods is third in voting with 12,716 votes, or 11.35%.

The winner of the primary election will appear again on the November ballot against the Republican primary winner.
