A 30-year-old Plano man was arrested in connection with a crash Monday afternoon that left a teenager dead and three others injured, according to a news release from Plano police.
Murad Omar Houry was arrested on March 2, the release said. He was being held in the Collin County jail as of Tuesday night and is facing a manslaughter charge, according to online jail records. His bond has been set to $50,000.
It is unclear if he has legal representation.
Emergency crews responded Monday to reports of a traffic crash in the northbound lanes of the 600 block of Independence Parkway around noon.
Police found that a blue Chevrolet Volt was traveling south when the driver lost control, crossed the center median, and struck a white Lincoln Navigator.
Crime in The News
There were four people inside the Navigator, and one of them, identified as 15-year-old Carter Heise, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three were taken to the hospital in unknown conditions.
