Benito’s Taqueria is back.
The taqueria at 3708 Decatur Ave. has reopened after a kitchen fire in February 2025 forced the restaurant to close.
There are two restaurants called Benito’s in Fort Worth– one on Magnolia and another on Decatur Avenue. The two are not related and are separately owned.
However, Benito’s Taqueria has another location at 1904 Hemphill St. called Benito’s Cocina Mexicana.
What are Fort Worth foodies saying about Benito’s reopening?
The Benito’s in Diamond Hill is a local favorite because it’s been around for decades.
Residents on the Fort Worth Foodies Facebook group were reminiscing on the taco spot being a “high-school hangout” and somewhere they’ve been going since they were a kid.
The building is the same, but restored, and the menu is the same.
The newest addition is the fact that customers can now pay with a card instead of just cash. No need to stop at the ATM on the way.
Foodies were most excited to eat Benito’s carnitas again. Others also mentioned the burritos, carne asada tacos and tripas (which are cow or pig intestines) as must-trys.
It was also noted that prices were kept similar to the prices they had before they closed.
