Austin voters cast their votes in the 2026 Texas primary election on Tuesday to determine who will run for some of the state’s highest offices. On the ballot are races like U.S. Senate, Governor, Attorney General as well as various key Texas House and Senate as well as county positions. 

Candidates John Cornyn, James Talarico as well as Texas Governor Greg Abbott hosted watch parties and spoke to the press in Austin after the polls closed on Tuesday night.Â
