HOUSTON — Following wins against #35 BYU and #29 Utah over the weekend to extend the Cougars undefeated start to the season at 11 wins, senior Chems Doha Zeghouli was crowned Big 12 Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Zeghlouli is the second Cougar to be named the league’s Player of the Week. Junior Valeriia Krokhotina won the award in week two of the season.

The Paris, France-native excelled over the weekend, posting a 4-0 record with a pair wins in singles and doubles. Both of her singles wins secured the match-clinching points against Utah and BYU. She dominated on the doubles court as well, recording two set wins at 6-2 and 6-1 alongside doubles partner Sophie Schouten.

Zeghlouli has tallied eight wins in both doubles and singles to propel the Cougars to their second best start in program history
