Republican State Senator Lois Kolkhorst who represents Grimes and 17 other counties in Senate District 18 was the keynote speaker at the Grimes County Republican Party’s 21st Annual Reagan Dinner Saturday, Feb. 21.
Kolkhorst began with a reminder of “what matters” – being “a free people.”
Recalling the events leading up to Texas Independence 190 years ago on March 3, 1836, Kolkhorst said, “There are only two places in our country that you can stand and say a country was born here. One of those is in Philadelphia and the other is in Washington, Texas.”
