Piper Stege Nelson, Exec. Director, I Live Here I Give Here, joined Trevor Scott and Sierra Waggoner to share how this effort is expected to rally support for more than 700 nonprofits over a 24-hour giving window, generating millions of dollars that go back into the community and the causes Austinites care about.
“We’ve got this amazing 24 hours where we really work to raise the funds that nonprofits in our Central Texas community need to succeed because they are the backbone of our community,” said Stege Nelson, “So this year, today, tomorrow, March 4th and 5th, from 6 p.m. tonight until 6 p.m. tomorrow, we’re going to raise $10 million for 748 nonprofits that are participating and that’s going to come from about 25 to 30,000 people in our Central Texas community.”

Organizers with I Live Here I Give Here say Amplify Austin Day is designed to make it easy for people to support a wide range of local needs, from nonprofits serving families and children to groups focused on education, health, the arts, and more.
“One of the fun things, and one of the ways we make it so easy, is that when you go to amplify.org, you can search by cause category. So if you know you love pets, you can search for all the pets. Maybe donate to Emancipet or a rescue. If you know that you love justice, you can go and find Asian Texans for justice. We’ve got 19 categories, super easy to search through those. Places like Torch Literary Arts, Shoal Creek Conservancy, they are all out there doing amazing work this year.”
