Fire crews, including the Rockport Volunteer Fire Department, contained a brush fire on Wednesday that left one home destroyed. No injuries were reported.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Fire crews contained a brush fire in Aransas County on Wednesday that destroyed one home, according to the Rockport Volunteer Fire Department.

Rockport VFD Public Information Officer Gillian Cox said firefighters contained the blaze around 4:30 p.m. No injuries were reported, according to Cox. 

The fire burned about four acres near Smith Road, drawing a response from multiple crews.

Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Geer said there is no need for evacuations at this time.

Officials said crews remain in the area monitoring conditions and working to secure the scene.

The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
