Arlington police identified a man who was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a teen in February, according to a Wednesday news release from the department.

Cameron Tantillo, 17, turned himself in at the Tarrant County jail Wednesday and faces a charge of making a firearm accessible to a child resulting in death, the release said.

On Feb. 20, officers responded to a home in the 4600 block of Sausalito Drive and on arriving, they found 14-year-old Riley Jordan unresponsive in a bedroom. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said Riley and his friends were allegedly playing with a gun before the shooting.

“Since that evening, detectives have been working diligently to determine where the gun used in the shooting came from and how Mr. Jordan and his friends got access to it,” the release said.

Police said they found the gun belonged to a relative of Tantillo. The gun’s owner had it properly secured in a gun safe but Tantillo allegedly broke into the safe without the owner’s knowledge or permission and took the gun to the home on Sausalito Drive, according to the authorities.

“The gun owner was cooperative with the investigation and will not face any criminal charges,” the release said.

Arlington police said another teenage boy was arrested and faces manslaughter charges in the shooting. Police did not reveal the identity of the boy because he is a juvenile.
