EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Far East El Paso on Wednesday.

According to the El Paso Police Department, at around 5:30 a.m., officers responded to the 14300 block of Armando Silva Drive, near Frank Castillo Park.

Police officials said that when they arrived, they found a 29-year-old woman had been shot.

They also found a 37-year-old man had been shot.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officials said they believe the man died from a self-inflicted wound.

Motives and what led up to the circumstances remained unclear as the investigation continued. Gomez said the Crimes Against Persons unit is investigating and that more details will be released when available.

No other information was provided.

The investigation is ongoing.
