EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A Texas teenager accused of shooting a security guard at an El Paso bar was arrested in Buffalo, New York, on Tuesday, according to U.S. Marshals.

U.S. Marshals arrested 18-year-old Donovan Berry in Buffalo on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly shooting a security guard in December 2025.

While details of the shooting remain unclear, U.S. Marshals said Berry, along with another individual, was wanted by the El Paso Police Department in connection with the shooting.

Berry was arrested after the U.S. Marshals – NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force received information from the U.S. Marshals Service – Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in El Paso that Berry had possibly fled to the Buffalo area in February.

Berry was then apprehended without incident at 7 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in Buffalo. He was transported to the Erie County Holding Center, where he is being held as a fugitive from justice.

The U.S. Marshals thanked state and local partners, including the New York State Police, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the Buffalo Police Department, and the Akron Police Department.
