Angie Unger has secured the Democratic nomination for the Hays County Precinct 4 commissioner election. Rob McClelland secured the Republican nomination. The two candidates will face off for the position in November.

Angie Unger leads the Democratic primary with 3,864 votes, or 50.56%. Laurie Brown has 3,779 votes, or 49.44%.
Rob McClelland leads the Republican primary with 4,368 votes, or 66.12%. WM. Travis Crow has 2,238 votes, or 33.88%.

Hays County has released early voting totals for the Democratic and Republican primary races for Precinct 4 commissioner.
The Democratic primary is between Laurie Brown and Angie Unger. The Republican primary is between WM. Travis Crow and Rob McClelland.
What you need to know
According to unofficial early voting results, Brown leads the Democratic primary with 3,122 votes, or 51%. Unger has 3,000 votes, or 49%.
Rob McClelland leads the Republican primary with 3,196 votes, or 67.4%. WM. Travis Crow has 1,546 votes, or 32.6%.
The candidate from each primary who receives over 50% of the votes will win their party’s position on the November ballot. If a candidate does not win at least 50% of the votes, a runoff election will be held May 26.
The winners of the Democratic primary and Republican primary will face off in the general election.
What else?
In early voting, there were 34,599 ballots cast countywide, which represents 17.9% of Hays County’s 192,945 voters.
Totals from ballots cast March 3 have yet to be released. Polls opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 7 p.m.
