HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says it’s looking for leads after a man was killed in an apparent hit-and-run crash in northwest Harris County.
The agency says it received a call around 7:30 p.m. Monday from someone who reportedly discovered the body while walking along Stuebner Airline Road at Fernglade Drive.
The body, which was reportedly in a grassy area alongside the road, was pronounced dead at the scene once EMS arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.
A sergeant told ABC13 the only evidence near the body was some car parts.
“We have vehicle parts by the body that suggest the male was struck by a vehicle,” Sgt. B. Beaty said.
HCSO has since said the parts appear to belong to a dark silver or grey Hyundai Elantra.
Beaty is hopeful businesses in the area could lead to additional clues.
“We are going to canvass the area for video,” he said.
