AUSTIN, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott on Wednesday urged Texans at home and abroad to remain vigilant and follow official guidance as military actions in Iran and the Middle East continue.

The governor emphasized the safety of Texans is the state’s top priority and said Texas officials are coordinating with federal partners to monitor development overseas.

“The safety and well-being of Texans are paramount,” Abbott said. “Now more than ever, Texans must remain vigilant and follow the guidance of U.S. officials as military action continues overseas. The State of Texas is actively coordinating with our federal partners to safeguard Texans abroad and at home from hostile foreign actors.”

Governor Abbott encouraged Americans worldwide, particularly those in the Middle East, to closely follow the latest security alerts issued by their nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
