Drought intensity remains unchanged across many North Texas counties

WICHITA COUNTY, Texas (KAUZ) – The U.S. Drought Monitor has been updated for Wichita County.

As of Thursday, March 5, Wichita County remains in the “D1 Moderate Drought” category.

Many North Texas counties have remained in the “D2 Severe Drought” status for an extended period of time, such as Foard, Hardeman, and Wilbarger counties.

Southern Oklahoma counties are experiencing harsher drought conditions, with Stevens and Tillman counties having the driest conditions in our area, at “D3 Extreme Drought.”
