The luxury brand Ritz-Carlton is returning to Houston with a 45-story skyscraper featuring 150 guest rooms and 112 residences available for ownership at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences.

The big picture

Located on Post Oak Boulevard near The Galleria, the luxury property will include restaurants and a lobby bar where guests and residents can dine; however, hotel guests will not be able to access the private residences or residential amenities, representatives said.

The full-service hotel is being developed by Deiso Moss and Cleary Interests, with sales and marketing being led by Redeavor Group.

“Houston has long held the economic depth and international business presence to support a project of this scale,” said Andrew Deiso, cofounder of Deiso Moss. “What has been missing is this level of brand integration and service infrastructure. This development reflects confidence in the city’s long-term trajectory and its ability to shine on a global stage.”

A closer look

As for the interior, internationally recognized architect and designer Lauren Rottet of Rottet Studio said at a March 2 media preview event she is designing the space based on Houston’s layered identity.

At the event, Rottet said she is inspired by the city’s greenery and will be incorporating elements like Houston’s live oaks to make guests feel as though they are surrounded by trees and at home.

The building will also include a mail room with green lacquer, a conservatory and a library, Rottet said.

Something to note

Additionally, the property features a $5 million private sales gallery where prospective buyers can see a preview of the residences. The gallery showcases architectural and design elements such as mock designs of a closet, bathroom and kitchen.

At the gallery, buyers can also view “a discreet residential arrival experience, indoor and outdoor pools and a comprehensive wellness program, alongside full access to the hotel’s dining, cultural and spa offerings,” according to a March 5 news release.

One more thing

Public sales for the residences launched March 5, and representatives from the project said they expect the development to be completed in the fall of 2029.
