EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Police released the identity of the man they say shot and killed himself in Far East El Paso, following a shooting that also injured a woman after a family violence call on Wednesday morning.
According to the El Paso Police Department, at around 5:25 a.m., officers found the body of 37-year-old Andres Cervantes, who they believe shot himself, and also a 28-year-old woman– Cervantes’s sister-in-law– also shot but still alive.
This after police were called to the 14300 block of Armando Silva Drive, near Frank Castillo Park.
Police also said there was a 7-year-old boy in the home at the time of the shooting; however, he was not injured.

EPPD said officers helped the woman out after finding her and, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive and rush her to the hospital.
Her condition on Thursday afternoon is not known, but police described her injuries as serious.
Motives and what led up to the circumstances remained unclear as the investigation continued.
Detectives with EPPD’s Crimes Against Persons unit are investigating the shooting.
