Rose Elaine Robertson
Rose Elaine Robertson, 87, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on February 17, 2026.
Born August 26, 1938 in Fort Worth, she grew up in Weatherford, where she was the Salutatorian at Weatherford High School. She attended Weatherford Junior College and North Texas State University, where she obtained her teaching certificate. Elaine married James M. Robertson on September 28, 1957 and then gave birth to three children: Cynthia, Stephen, and John.Â
She had a wonderful assortment of jobs, such as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone, a librarian at Oregon State University, a Kindergarten teacher at Cleveland Elementary School in Norman, painting handmade soldiers at HMS by Patrick, and a microbiologist at Shaklee. She grew all kinds of fruits and vegetables and raised cattle, goats, hogs, chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats, and kids on their 25-acre farm.Â
She will want to be remembered most for serving others who are less fortunate. She volunteered at Church in the Park, where she served meals and handed out toiletries and clothing to the homeless. She also volunteered at the Purcell Baptist Church Clothes Closet. Her biggest passion was Operation Christmas Child. For nearly 26 years, she and her husband filled thousands of shoe boxes for children all over the world so they would have a present to open on Christmas Day. She also supported Samaritan’s Purse, which helped to give people around the world hope. She loved her church and her friends and attended Goldsby Baptist Church, where she loved to sing hymns. She was a talented oil painter and loved to travel, visiting nearly all of Europe, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, and quite a bit of the United States.Â
Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Melvin Robertson; her grandson, Christopher Michael Robertson; and brother, Joel Asa Bennett. Elaine Robertson is survived by her brother, Douglas Bennett and his wife, Martha; her children, Cynthia Ann Forrest and her husband Gordon Forrest; Stephen Matthew Robertson; Dr. John Robertson and his wife Claudia Robertson; her six grandchildren, Robin Anne Rougier, Olivia, Isaac, Meridyan, Adley, and Rio Robertson; and her great-grandchildren, Spencer and Jonah Rosecrants.Â
