The countdown is on to Mecum Auction’s return to North Texas! Mecum Dallas/Fort Worth 2025 kicks off next week, running from October 29 through November 2. This year marks a venue change from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth where an estimated 1,500 vehicles are expected to cross the block over the four-day event. If you can’t make it in person you can check out the action on MotorTrend and MotorTrend+ and you can bid online through Mecum’s “Bid From Anywhere” platform.

Mecum says its move west gives it more room to grow and plenty to showcase. The 2025 auction will feature approximately 1,500 vehicles spanning American muscle, classic trucks, exotic sports cars, and modern performance models. Five major private collections will cross the block, offering everything from meticulously restored Corvettes to low-mile Shelby Mustangs and vintage road art pieces.
Mecum also says the auction will serve as a reunion of sorts for collectors across the Southwest. Mecum first brought its signature event to Texas in 2011, helping establish the state as a destination for high-end automotive auctions. Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena now provides upgraded facilities and closer proximity to the region’s car-culture hub, drawing bidders from across Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
Company officials say the new location reflects both Mecum’s long-term commitment to the region and the continued strength of the collector-car market. Despite economic fluctuations and interest-rate pressures, the auction house reports that bidding activity at Mecum’s 2025 events has remained brisk, with strong demand for 1960s and 1970s muscle cars, late-model supercars, and rare trucks.
Auction Highlights
High-profile consignments include a 1970 Plymouth Superbird and the iconic 1986 Porsche 930 Turbo. Also crossing the block at Dickies Arena are no fewer than 38 Camaros, including a classic 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and a rare 1969 Chevrolet Nickey Camaro Stage III. There is an impressive lineup of pickups showcasing the evolution of the working vehicle, ranging from the early 1937 Chevrolet Custom Pickup to the modern beast: a 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty Custom. Several charity lots are also scheduled, continuing Mecum’s tradition of supporting causes such as Curing Kids Cancer.
Private Collections
Among the five private assemblages to cross the block is the collection of Jack Shewmaker, who was instrumental in Walmart’s growth, developing the “Everyday Low Prices” strategy and coining the well-known term “Rollback.” The collection showcases unique pickup trucks spanning from the 1910s to the 1960s and also includes rare classics, such as a 1947 Frazer Manhattan Sedan.
The Tom Katinic Collection, offered entirely at no-reserve, features a selection of on-screen stars such as the 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake featured in “The Interview” and “Deadpool 2,” a 1969 Mercury Cougar featured in “Bad Times at the El Royale” and “Supernatural,” and a diverse array of other vehicles.
From the Redefined Legacy Collection presents a tastefully customized selection of Corvettes, Camaros, Chevelles, a vintage GMC pickup and more, including a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe and a 1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback.
Road Art
Hundreds of pieces of “Road Art” will also be up for auction — everything from vintage signage to gas pumps and dealership memorabilia. It will be displayed through the arena.
Tickets and Bidder Registration
Doors will open daily at 8 a.m., with the vehicle auction beginning at 10 a.m. Tickets and bidder registration info along with a continuously updated docket are available at Mecum.com.
