NORTH TEXAS IRISH FESTIVAL

Experience the magic of the Emerald Isle with live Celtic music, Irish dance, cultural demonstrations, storytelling, food, shopping and more at one of the largest Irish festivals in the United States. Back for its 44th year, the festival will feature entertainment on multiple stages along with horse displays and sheepherding demonstrations. Children’s activities and crafts, magic shows and other family entertainment are also on the menu. The North Texas Irish Festival Fun Run will kick off on the morning of March 7 with a 5K walk/run through the Fair Park grounds.

March 6 from 6 to 11 p.m., March 7 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and March 8 from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Fair Park in Dallas. Single-day tickets for ages 12 and up are $20 on March 6 and $30 on March 7-8. For children ages 6-11, it’s $10 each day. Younger kids get in free when accompanied by an adult. Three-day tickets are $50 for ages 12 and up and $20 for kids ages 6-11. Two-day tickets are $45 or $15. Admission is free for everyone on opening day from 6 to 7 p.m., and children 11 and under can get in free on March 8 from 11 a.m. to noon. FREE Get into a Lone Star state of mind at this community celebration in Carrollton, where organizers urge attendees to bring their boots and buckles. Vendors will sell arts and crafts and other items, and a mechanical bull will be there to test guests’ mettle. Live music will run throughout the festival, with performances by Brandon Rosage Band at 3 p.m., Bailey Rae Band at 5 p.m. and Grupo Stampede at 7 p.m. A beer garden will serve local craft brews, and vendors will offer barbecue, tacos, burgers, cheesecake, hot dogs and more. Guests can also take photos with a real-life Texas longhorn.

VIDEO ART NIGHT DENTON

FREE An exhibition of video artworks presented in unexpected public spaces, Video Art Night has taken place annually in Dallas since 2022. This year, the event expands to Denton for the first time, with an immersive exhibition of artworks projected across the outdoor spaces of Quakertown Park. In addition, guests can enjoy live music by the Dead Thing, along with food and drink purchases. The event will serve as a preview for Video Art Night in Dallas’ AT&T Discovery District, which returns April 17 from 7 to 10 p.m.

‘WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY?’

If you’re a fan of the Emmy Award-winning improv TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, this touring stage show should tickle your funny bone. Comedians Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis and Joel Murray will create characters, scenes and songs on the spot, engaging in silly antics and banter to keep the crowd entertained. Expect plenty of audience interaction during the 90-minute show.

Galleria Dallas is offering a full slate of activities to keep kids entertained while they’re out of school, including art making, yoga, performances and ice skating. The largest annual floral festival in the Southwest is back, with more than 500,000 blooming bulbs planted throughout the gardens of the Dallas Arboretum. Welcome spring with colorful tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other seasonal favorites. In addition to expansive floral displays, Dallas Blooms offers a lineup of seasonal programming. Highlights include the annual Orchid Show through March 7, showcasing rare and exotic orchids in a climate-controlled indoor setting; the Garden Chef Series through April 5, where local chefs will share seasonal recipes on Fridays and Saturdays at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.; and the Creative Arts Series through March 31, an arts-focused program featuring live performances and creative showcases. BUTTERFLIES IN THE GARDEN

The latest sign of spring’s imminent arrival? Butterflies in the Garden is back at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The garden’s Rainforest Conservatory has been transformed into a habitat for thousands of butterflies from around the world, including the electric-blue Instagram star Blue Morpho and the massive Atlas moth, whose wingspan can reach nearly a foot across. Venture into this living kaleidoscope of color and learn all about the importance of pollinating insects.

TULIPALOOZA

This tulip festival is back for its eighth year, with hundreds of thousands of tulip bulbs imported from the Netherlands. And this year, daffodils have been added to the mix as well. The colorful rows of flowers make for an Instagram-ready photo backdrop, and guests can also pick flowers to take home. A portion of the proceeds benefit local charities.

HARRY POTTER: THE EXHIBITION

Potterheads should appreciate this immersive celebration of all things Harry Potter, which was recently extended into April. Visitors can see authentic movie props, actor-worn costumes and re-creations of iconic scenes and settings, and they can also hone their Quidditch skills, brew potions, cast spells and pot a mandrake. An after-hours event for muggles ages 18 and up, from 6 to 9 p.m., offers complimentary cocktails or mocktails.
