SAN ANTONIO – A suspect is behind bars after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and holding her at gunpoint.

Around 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday, police were called to the scene of a reported Cutting in Progress near the corner of East Southcross and Pecan Valley Drive, on the East Side.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, when officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, identified as a 24-year-old woman, and a witness.

Both the victim and the witness told police that the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Chastity Johnson, had forced her way into the victim’s residence and displayed a firearm to the victim.

The victim told police that, due to the suspect forcing her way into the residence, she retrieved a small kitchen knife as she did not know what the suspect was going to do.

A small physical struggle between the suspect and the victim followed, with both sustaining minor injuries.

22-year-old Chastity Johnson remains in custody in the Bexar County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
