A lightning strike caused a house to catch fire Wednesday evening in Fort Worth, officials say. Shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Fort Worth fire crews arrived in the 4200 block of Leeds Drive to find fire coming from the roof of a home. The family living in the home said they heard a large bang as they were sleeping and then went outside to find fire shooting from the roof, according to WFAA crews on the scene.

Fire crews began a defensive attack on the blaze, according to crews. Witnesses say the fire was started by a lightning strike during a round of storms across the Metroplex last night. No injuries were reported.
