ROCKPORT, Texas – The City of Rockport will spray several city parks for woolly worms on Monday, March 16.

Rockport Community Pool, Memorial Park, Matthis Park, Spencer Park and Zachary Taylor Park will be closed to the public from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. while the treatment is applied.

City officials say the pesticide being used is not toxic to humans, pets or wildlife, but they advise the public to avoid the parks during the closure to prevent any potential inhalation or skin contact.

If rain occurs, the spraying will be rescheduled for Monday, March 23.
