Amplify Austin Day encourages Central Texans to support more than 700 nonprofits.
AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texas nonprofits received a big boost from this year’s Amplify Austin Day, which is the region’s largest day of philanthropy.
Organizers with “I Live Here I Give Here” announced that the annual 24-hour fundraising event raised $9.3 million for a total of 748 nonprofits. To date, the campaign has raised more than $131 million for nonprofits spanning across seven Central Texas counties, including Travis, Hays, Williamson, Burnet, Bastrop, Caldwell and Blanco.Â
“The momentum we continue to see in Williamson County speaks volumes to the heart of this community,” Piper Stege Nelson, executive director of I Live Here I Give Here, said in a statement. “Community members stepping up in powerful ways to champion local nonprofits resulted in this year’s achievement. We look forward to celebrating Wilco’s lasting impact year after year.”
Organizers said some of the strides made on Amplify Austin Day included the following:Â
Central Texas Food Bank mobilized 1,399 donors, raising $385,345.
