Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery in Miami on Thursday, according to Miami-Dade County jail records.
Ogunbowale was arrested at Miami night club E11EVEN MIAMI. She was released on $1,000 bond.
“The Wings are aware of an incident involving Arike Ogunbowale and are in the process of gathering more information,” a Wings spokesperson told The Dallas Morning News. “Further comments will be provided once we have more details.”
According to the arrest affidavit, Ogunbowale punched a man in the face with a closed fist, causing him to fall to the ground.

The Wings star was in the Miami area to play in Unrivaled, a professional 3-on-3 women’s basketball league founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. Ogunbowale scored 19 points to help lead Mist to a 80-74 win over Phantom in the league’s championship game.
She has spent all seven seasons of her WNBA career with the Wings, averaging 19.9 points and 4.0 assists per game. She has been named an All-Star four times in her career and has won the All-Star game MVP twice.
The Wings selected Ogunbowale with the fifth overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft out of Notre Dame.
