AUSTIN, Texas — Federal investigators have gathered more than 2,000 digital images, including CCTV and other camera footage, as part of the ongoing investigation into a March 1 mass shooting in Austin that killed three people, the FBI said Friday.

The FBI’s Digital Video Retrieval Team collected the images, which are being processed for analysis, the bureau said in an update.

Investigators have also executed eight search warrants, including three residential search warrants, one electronic device search warrant and four warrants targeting email, social media and electronic data accounts. Approximately 38 subpoenas have been served in connection with the investigation.

The gunman, identified as Ndiaga Diagne, was fatally shot by Austin police officers during the attack.

More than 150 FBI personnel from multiple field offices and FBI headquarters divisions have supported the investigation since the night of the shooting.

Authorities said all evidence recovery efforts at locations associated with Diagne, including his last known residence, have been completed. Investigators said they are “aggressively pursuing all leads” to identify any potential associates and to determine a motive.

A Virtual Family Assistance Center has been established to connect victims and their families with available resources.
