Honor Flight Austin provides expense-paid trips for Central Texas veterans to see memorials in our nation’s capital that honor Americans who served.

AUSTIN, Texas — A parade of military veterans on the main concourse at Austin’s airport Friday morning signaled the beginning of the first Honor Flight journey of 2026 to Washington, D.C. this weekend.

More than 50 veterans of the Vietnam War and Cold War, and two who served during the Korean War of 1950-1953 are the guests of Honor Flight Austin.

Honor Flight flies local veterans who served during World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War and the Cold War to see the many memorials that honor those who sacrificed for their country.

Veterans who served in the military prior to June 1975 are eligible to fly free of charge. More information is available at honorflightaustin.org.
