After parts of North Texas saw a brief tornado watch Friday, the region headed into the weekend with a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Threats of severe storms diminished by Friday evening and little rain was expected overnight.

Saturday is starting with a possibility of thunderstorms before 9 a.m. and more after with temperatures falling to 61 degrees by 8 a.m., according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.

Nighttime temperatures Saturday are expected to bottom out at 49 degrees with chances of showers and thunderstorms continuing through the night.

The sun could shine on North Texans on Sunday, with the day expected to be devoid of thunderstorms. Also on Sunday, North Texans will lose one hour with the beginning of Daylight Saving Time. This time change, which usually occurs at 2 a.m., is expected to continue for 34 weeks until Nov. 1.

Wet weather is forecast to continue until mid-next week, the weather service’s forecast said.
