HOUSTON – The University of Houston Softball team dropped both games of its Big 12 Conference opening series doubleheader against No. 2 Texas Tech at Cougar Softball Stadium on Friday. 
 
The Cougars (15-9) were limited to three hits and one run on the day, all coming in the second game of Friday’s doubleheader after being no-hit 10-0 in game one before falling 11-1 in the nightcap.
 
NOTABLES


Maddie Hartley notched a single in the nightcap against the Red Raiders, now tallying a hit in six of her last seven outings.
Freshman Shelby Taylor also continued her recent hot streak at the plate with a single in the nightcap, now producing a base hit in five of her last seven games.
Freshman Ronnie Esparza has now recorded an RBI in three of her last four games.
The Cougars were shutout for the first time this season.
