HOUSTON – A star-studded pair joined KPRC 2 in-studio Saturday for National Kidney Awareness Month: “American Idol” Season 12 Top 20 finalist Vincent Powell and Season 12 winner Candice Glover.
For Powell, kidney disease hits close to home. After being diagnosed in 2023 and starting dialysis, Powell said his life took a turn, but now he’s turning his journey into action with Life Fest HTX.
The event is happening today at Discovery Green from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

And joining Powell is his Season 12 co-star and friend Candice Glover, who will be performing at Saturday’s event.
Attendees at Life Fest HTX can enjoy live entertainment, fashion and art showcases, local vendors and be connected to kidney health resources such as screenings and community organizations.
In the United States, an estimated 35.5 to 37 million adults live with chronic kidney disease, but only nine out of 10 are unaware of their condition.
