LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Zian Doctolero, a 7th grader with Frenship Independent School District, won the 74th Annual Lubbock Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday at the Lubbock YWCA.
The event, hosted by Double T 97.3 and FOX34, presented by Sonic Drive-In, began at 10 a.m.
Regional champions advance to nationals
The Regional Spelling Bee serves as the final local competition, bringing together district champions from public, private and charter schools across the South Plains. Doctolero will advance to the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in May. The event will be held at the DAR Constitution Hall, May 27-28.
