GREENVILLE, S.C. – On Saturday, the semifinal stage at the SEC Tournament will be shared by Texas women’s basketball and Ole Miss.
Texas (29-3) and Ole Miss (23-10) are set to meet at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in the SEC Tournament’s semifinal round. Texas is the conference tournament’s No. 3 seed while seventh-seeded Ole Miss is looking to become just the sixth team since 2000 to reach the SEC title game without a top-four seed.

This Greenville get-together comes two months after Texas and Ole Miss played each other during the first week of conference play. Back on Jan. 4, UT recorded a 67-64 win over the Rebels in Austin. The Longhorns built a 19-point lead in that game but had to hold off an Ole Miss team that missed a game-tying shot at the fourth quarter’s buzzer.
This time around, Texas and Ole Miss are playing for the right to face top-seeded South Carolina (31-2) in Sunday’s SEC championship game.
Stay tuned for live updates.

4th (5:45): Texas 67, Ole Miss 59
Texas has not trailed once tonight, but the Longhorns still find themselves clinging to a small lead in the final frame. Texas forward Madison Booker just scored her 22nd point of the night on a jumper, and Ole Miss called a timeout to make its plans for this game’s final minutes.
Booker and senior center Kyla Oldacre have scored eight of UT’s 10 points in the fourth quarter. They have combined for 20 of the 25 points scored by Texas in the second half of this game.
End 3: Texas 57, Ole Miss 55
Ole Miss drastically cut into the Texas lead in the third quarter, and a final minute that included a Denim DeShields basket, two Tianna Thompson free throws and a DeShields 3-pointer has made this a two-point game. DeShields’ buzzer-beating 3-pointer was set up by Thompson drawing an offensive foul on UT point guard Rori Harmon, who was overly aggressive with the Ole Miss guard while trying to create separation on offense.
Texas got six points a piece from Madison Booker and Kyla Oldacre during the third quarter. Oldacre entered the day with a 66.9 percentage at the free-throw line, but she was 6-for-6 at the charity stripe over the seven minutes she played in the third session.

For the game, Booker has scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Ole Miss is being led by Cotie McMahon’s 18 points.
3rd (4:34): Texas 49, Ole Miss 40
The third quarter has featured three 3-pointers so far. Texas point guard Rori Harmon knocked down one of those 3-pointers, and Ole Miss forward Latasha Lattimore is 2-for-3 on her deep attempts in this session. Harmon and Lattimore were both members of the Longhorns’ highly-rated 2021 recruiting class, but Lattimore only spent one year in Austin before she transferred.
Halftime: Texas 42, Ole Miss 32
Texas will head into halftime with a 10-point advantage as Madison Booker has recorded 12 points, four rebounds and three assists. Texas is 28-0 this season when leading at halftime.

In the first half, Ole Miss committed 11 turnovers. Since the Longhorns rank 10th nationally with the 23.25 turnovers they are forcing per game, that wasn’t particularly surprising. But what was notable was UT’s eight first-half blocks. Six SEC teams have recorded more blocks this season than Texas, which hasn’t yet stuffed more than nine shots in a game. Texas center Kyla Oldacre has four of UT’s blocks.
Senior forward Cotie McMahon leads Ole Miss with her game-high 16 points. Only five Rebels have scored this evening.
2nd (2:36): Texas 40, Ole Miss 25
Behind Madison Booker’s 10 points, Texas has opened up a 15-point lead in the SEC semifinals. As a team, Texas is shooting 57.1% from the floor. All eight Longhorns who have played have scored at least two points.

2nd (7:57): Texas 28, Ole Miss 18
Texas senior Rori Harmon is the Longhorns’ all-time leader in assists, but it was nifty passes by two of her teammates that forced Ole Miss to burn a timeout in the second session. On back-to-back possessions, Madison Booker and Jordan Lee set up scores by Kyla Oldacre and Ashton Judd with precision passes into the paint.
As a team, UT has five assists tonight. Harmon is responsible for two of those score set-ups.
End 1: Texas 22, Ole Miss 16
Texas has forced nine turnovers, but the Longhorns have yet to find a defensive answer for Ole Miss star Cotie McMahon. A six-foot forward, McMahon has scored 10 of Ole Miss’ 16 points so far while making four of her five shots.
Madison Booker is leading Texas with her eight points and two rebounds. With five points, Breya Cunningham leads the five other Longhorns who scored in the first quarter.

All-conference honorees Madison Booker and Cotie McMahon have both gotten involved in the early offensive action in Greenville. Booker scored four points for Texas on 2-of-5 shooting while McMahon has turned her three field goal attempts into five Ole Miss points. Booker and McMahon were two of the 10 first-team honorees on the all-SEC team.
Breya Cunningham leads Texas with her five points. Defensively, Texas has already forced seven turnovers.
