AUSTIN, Texas – The Central Arkansas STUNT team competed four times this weekend, going 2-2 in Austin, Texas.
 
Game one of the weekend was against Ashland. The Bears kept it close for the first half, scoring four points in each of the first two quarters, and trailed by four going into the break. But Ashland was able to pull away in the second half. The Eagles scored four points in the third and 13 in the fourth, outpacing the Bears by nine points over the final two quarters to take the result.
 
Central Arkansas rebounded in game two, facing off with St. Edwards. This time, it was the Bears who got out to an early lead, outscoring St. Edwards 4-1 in both the first and second quarters, going into halftime up 8-2. After an even 5-5 score in the third, Central Arkansas put together a 10-7 fourth quarter to win by nine.
 
The third game of the weekend was against Texas Woman’s University, a team that Central Arkansas struggled to gain any momentum against.  The Pioneers got off to a strong start, opening the game with a 4-0 lead over the Bears. After a 3-1 second quarter, the Bears were trailing by six going into the second half. And from there, Texas Woman’s University pulled away, ultimately claiming the 28-9 final.
 

But the Bears ended the weekend on a good note in their final game of the day Saturday. In a fight against Texas A&M-Kingsville, the Bears got off to a 5-1 start after the first quarter. A 4-2 second frame saw Central Arkansas lead 9-3 at halftime. The Bears stayed on the gas pedal, improving the lead to 14-7 after the third quarter, and carried an even score through the fourth to win by seven.
 
The Bears have two more weeks of competition in the regular season, next competing in Nashville, Tennessee the weekend of March 20th. There, Central Arkansas will play four games, against Cal Baptist, Northern Kentucky, Mercyhurst and Hope International.
