Grapevine’s Dinosaurs Park is opening just in time for spring break with events March 14-29.

Families can walk through an animatronic dinosaur exhibit at Meadowmere Park next to Lake Grapevine at 3000 Meadowmere Lane from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The entrance fee is per vehicle, and it’s $29 for a car of up to six people.

Lake Grapevine is one of the locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where fossilized dinosaur bones have been discovered.

Those discoveries have resulted in different events throughout the years geared towards education and celebration of the local connection to pre-historic dinosaurs.

This event, which is organized by the Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department, has activities for the whole family during the day and special events in the evenings.

“Grapevine has a large prehistoric past and has celebrated the dinosaurs that once tracked their way through what is now Grapevine, Texas since 2015.,” said Morgan Denny, lake parks manager. “Fossil Fest that then became what is today Prehistoric Park has evolved into a family-friendly exhibit and event with larger-than-life animatronic dinosaurs, unique activations, educational opportunities all along the shore of Grapevine Lake at Meadowmere Park. You don’t want to miss when these creatures make their way to Grapevine, it is a roaring good time for all!”

The exhibit features 15 animatronic dinosaurs that are up to 15 feet tall, games like Feed the Dinosaur where you can toss bean bags into a dinosaur’s mouth, and a Tricer-A-Toss a ring tossing game.

Sensory displays let you touch dinosaur eggs, skin, claws and teeth as well as learn about Grapevine’s prehistoric era and more.
