New season, new roster, and now—new numbers. As Texas A&M turns the page toward 2026, the natural churn of college football has opened the door for a fresh wave of jersey updates. With several Aggies moving on to the NFL Draft or exhausting their eligibility, a handful of coveted numbers have become available, giving returning players a chance to reset their identity heading into the fall.

Unlike the pros, college programs can double up on digits as long as players line up on opposite sides of the ball. It’s why fans saw both Tyreek Chappell and future first‑round pick KC Concepcion wearing No. 7 last season. Now, with both officially off to the league, that number—and several others—are back in circulation. And as expected, some of the most recognizable numbers on the roster were among the first claimed.

The Texas A&M football social media team released the initial wave of updates, marking the first of what will likely be several rounds of number changes as spring ball approaches. These early moves offer a small but meaningful glimpse into how the 2026 roster is taking shape, who’s stepping into bigger roles, and which players are ready to put their stamp on the program.

The official changes announced so far are listed below.

Dalton Brooks – Safety – No. 25 to No. 7Ashton Bethel-Roman – Wide Receiver – No. 3 to No. 8Terry Bussey – Wide Receiver – No. 2 to No. 6
