EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – Deputies are searching for additional victims after a man was arrested for sexual exploitation of a child.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO), a representative from the Department of Human Services contacted detectives on July 25 regarding a report of sexual assault on a child.
Special Victims Unit detectives launched an investigation into Richard Vasquez, 63.
Deputies said the allegations against Vasquez involve incidents that occurred in the 7000 block of Notre Way in unincorporated El Paso County.
Vasquez was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with sexual exploitation of a child, sexual assault of a child, unlawful sexual contact, and sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.
He is being held in the El Paso County Jail without bond.
Detectives have determined that Vasquez had access to other children in the Pikes Peak region and believe additional victims may exist. Vasquez reportedly has known ties to Tularosa, New Mexico.
