LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Temperatures fall as winds relax throughout the night. Low temps will bottom out generally in the 30s for most of the South Plains.

Winds will stay light around 5 to 15 mph out of north-northeast. Skies remain clear.

Overall a gorgeous day! High temperatures will climb into the mid 70s with plenty of sunshine.
Sunday is looking to be a gorgeous day with relatively light winds and warmer temperatures compared to Saturday.(Dylan Smith)
Winds also remain light at around 5 to 15 mph. No surprises or unpleasantries in regards to the weather today.
NEXT WEEK
We’ll continue to warm up as we move into Monday and Tuesday with high temperatures approaching the 80 degree mark both days. A cold front arrives Wednesday, dropping temperatures once again before rebounding heading into late next week.

We’ll see another introduction of rain chances beginning Monday that will last in some form or fashion through Wednesday.

TODAY IN WEATHER HISTORY: 2000
Strong westerly winds fueled by a dry-line surged upwards of 35 to 45 mph with gusts topping out over 60 mph at times. This led to many downed power lines and lightweight buildings receiving minor damage. This also led to blowing dust and reduced visibility at times. Damages were estimated to be around $750,000.
