A Fort Worth police helicopter made an emergency landing after experiencing mechanical issues Saturday night, police said.

The helicopter, Air One, was responding to a service call and took off about 10:15 p.m. from the helipad, Fort Worth police said in a news release.

According to police the helicopter was about 100 feet in the air when it experienced a mechanical issue.

The helicopter pilot attempted to make it back to the heliport but made an emergency landing on airport property just short of the helipad, police said.

One pilot and one tactical flight officer on board and both were evaluated by the Fort Worth Fire Department for minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital as a precaution, police said.

The helicopter involved in this incident was the Fort Worth Police Department’s new Air One , added to the Air Support Unit in December 2025.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, the release stated.
