According to the Arlington Police Department, officers found the victim trapped underneath a small truck.
ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash after officers found a man trapped under a small truck Saturday morning, officials say.
According to police, officers were called at about 5:09 a.m. to the northbound lanes of Highway 360 near East Avenue J in response to calls of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle. The victim was under the truck when officers arrived.
Officials say investigation found the man had been traveling in a Dodge Durango along northbound Highway 360 with a woman before stopping along the highway. He reportedly then got out of the vehicle and began walking with the woman along the entrance ramp in the lane of travel.
At this time, police say the man was hit by a 2025 Ford Maverick traveling on the northbound frontage road, entering the on ramp to Highway 360.
Officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The driver immediately stopped and cooperated with police, officials say. He isn’t facing any criminal charges currently.
The woman wasn’t injured in the incident, police said.
The identity of the victim will be released once next of kin has been notified.
