LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A nice wrap-up of the weekend with a high of 78 degrees in Lubbock, mostly sunny skies and wind gusts remaining under 30 mph.

For Monday, warmer, mostly sunny and gusty winds, but again in the 15- 25 mph range with a few stronger gusts possible. There will be elevated fire danger on Monday with the 80+ degree temperatures combining with gusty west to southwest winds over 20 mph.

In addition, on Tuesday afternoon showers and storms will be possible with a chance for some severe thunderstorms in the area on Tuesday afternoon and evening. As of this evening, the primary severe threat on Tuesday will be along and east of the Caprock. However, marginal level thunderstorms may be possible anywhere on the South Plains that evening.
