Plano City Council to vote on new police officer hire

Plano City Hall is set to swear in a new police officer Monday night. The City Council meets at 6 p.m. at 17 E. Main Street.

The council will vote on the hiring of Officer Sofian Riahi. If approved, Riahi will be sworn in by the city attorney.

Also on the agenda is a vote on about $446,000 in bills.

The Committee of the Whole will follow the regular meeting and will cover the city’s sidewalk grinding program and review portions of the city’s budget.
