Starting March 15, 2026, the City of Arlington will accept applications for interested residents who would like to serve on a citizen board or commission.

Members of boards and commissions assist the Mayor and City Council by making recommendations on general policy matters impacting the city. Most boards and commissions function in advisory capacities and some have final decision-making authority.

Members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve a two-year term and most terms run from July 1 to June 30. These are volunteer positions.

See a complete list of citizen boards and commissions and to fill out an online application. From the list, you will be able to view the current member roster for each board and see when the members’ terms expire.
