Houston firefighters found a man hanging from a rope and on fire at a homeless encampment on Houston’s northeast side late Thursday night.

“It seems very unlikely (that the death was a suicide),” Houston Police Department Lt. A. Khan told OnScene TV.

Firefighters were dispatched to the Loop 610 underpass near Kirkpatrick around 10 p.m. Thursday after Union Pacific employees reported a brush fire, Khan said.
