Texas Tech star guard Christian Anderson received some big-time honors at the conclusion of the Big 12’s regular season.
Anderson was named All-Big 12 First Team and the Big 12’s Most Improved Player, as voted on by the conference’s coaches. Anderson averaged 19.2 points and a conference-leading 7.8 assists per game. The 6-foot-2 guard was also fifth in the Big 12 in scoring and led the league with a whopping 38.6 minutes per game. He was remarkably efficient as a scorer, shooting 48.1% from the floor and 42.7% from 3-point range.
He won the Most Improved Player award after leveling up his play significantly from his standout freshman season in 2024-25. Last year, he averaged 10.6 points and 2.2 assists en route to being named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team.
The Atlanta, Ga. native has been called upon in a huge way by the Red Raiders ever since reigning Big 12 Player of the Year JT Toppin went down with a torn ACL. In Texas Tech’s five games since Toppin’s injury, Anderson has averaged 20 points and 8.4 points as he has stepped up and shouldered the load on offense.
