Texas’ Dailyn Swain earned some well-deserved recognition from the SEC after a standout debut season with the Longhorns.

Swain, who transferred from Xavier and followed Sean Miller to Austin, was named Second Team All-SEC and won the conference’s Newcomer of the Year award. The 6-foot-7 junior forward averaged 17.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season. He was efficient as a scorer too, shooting 55.4% from the field and 34.6% from 3-point range.

Swain was one of the prized transfers that Miller brought with him from Xavier, as he was named to the Big East’s All-Freshman Team in 2023-24.

According to ESPN Research, he is the only player in a major conference to lead his team in at least five major statistical categories, as he leads the Longhorns in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and minutes.
